Today’s coffee of choice is a standard Americano served in the largest cup I have which is probably double the size of a normal one; I needed it this morning.
Moving on, here is today’s sketch –
As with many of these morning sketches, they will be developed into fully fledged artworks further down the road. ‘The Sacrifice’ shows a woman who has been offered up as a sacrifice begging the question of; To whom? The Dragons? The Gods?
The jewellery suggests that she isn’t a slave girl or a lower class citizen but nobility of some sort, is this sacrifice voluntary? Do the people hold the power to offer up nobles as sacrifices against their will?
These questions and more will have to be considered as I develop the artwork and the story behind it. When I do get around to creating it as a finished artwork, I will want to show more in the scene than just the sacrificial woman; I would like to show whoever or whatever is receiving the sacrifice as well, or at least suggest it within the scene.
I hope you have enjoyed this twentieth post in the series and if you have any feedback or suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment below; also subscribe to my blog in order to stay updated!
Until next time, farewell!
