May The Fourth Be With You!
Well, by the time of this post we’re two days late, but nevertheless, the illustration that is the subject of this post was completed in honour of this special date; recognised by all aspiring Jedi throughout the universe!
Well, maybe just Earth, but you get the point.
Welcome to my #WorldsForgotten series, every week I will be posting a new ink illustration accompanied by a short story just to set the scene; the rest will be left to the imagination of the viewer!
Ahch-To is the world where the Jedi Order was founded, and its sacred island is the site of the first Jedi Temple.
The first temple of the Jedi Order sits atop Ahch-To’s sacred island, high above the surrounding sea. The temple has been worn away by wind and time, but a visitor will still find mosaics depicting the first Jedi; and an ancient meditation ledge.
I personally think that Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi could have done so much more with the first Jedi Temple, the possibilities and concepts they had were incredible and I felt that the small cave-like area that Luke Skywalker had become a hermit to was a bit of a let down.
I definitely feel it a possibility that I will revisit this theme in the future and bring my own vision of the first Jedi Temple to life on paper or canvas.
Don’t Miss a Post!
Each illustration for the #WorldsForgotten series will be posted on Thursdays and as with all of my smaller works, the first place they will be posted will be Instagram.
Also on Instagram I post exclusive behind the scenes photos and short video clips (which I’ll be doing a lot more of nowadays) so be sure to follow me on there and be amongst the first to see new works and works in progress! – @JGloverArt
Every Sunday following the Thursday Instagram post, I will post the illustration here on my blog and add a bit more depth in terms of the description/story behind it and so on.
